About

I have spent over four years in education as a special education teacher, mentor and, team leader. I’ve worked closely with both colleagues and families to support students. I received my Bachelors in Special Education, Adapted Curriculum from East Carolina University. Then completed my Masters in Special Education, General Curriculum, and Certification in Autism from the College of William and Mary. 

My primary goal is to consult with teachers, families, and students, inform them of their rights, review and advise on all parts of the IEP, and provide resources to use at home and in the community. I will support and coach families on academic, social/emotional, functional skills and transition out of high school. I will serve as an advocate for you and your child at home, in school, and your community. I will review IEPs, attend meetings, conduct observations, collaborate with the school, and provide resources. 

As a teacher and leader in school, I have a unique perspective. I will support both general and special educators working with students with a range of abilities. I will provide resources and professional development on best practices, inclusion, classroom supports, behavior management, etc. I will work individually with teachers to ensure they provide each child with accommodations, interventions, and supports they deserve.

I have a huge passion for teaching students to advocate for themselves and navigate their world independently and helping families find ways to generalize those skills at home. I also love collaborating and sharing with other special education teachers. I work to create resources that are easy to use for students and help teachers reach all of their students.
